Spring 2023

Note taking for the past few meetings was sparse, so this is a summary of March and April, 2023, of the Wine and Word Book Club meetings.

In March the meeting was held at Linda’s and we discussed Lessons in Chemestry, by Bonnie Garmus. We discussed the Best Picture winner, Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, which members either enjoyed immensely or found too complicated and strange to even finish. Cindy read Anderson Cooper’s, Vanderbilt and A Lady in Waiting, written by Anne Glenconner, a close friend of the royal family and lady-in-waiting for Anne Margaret. Karen brought a LOT of books to share with members.

In April we met at Cindy’s and enjoyed our own pizza creations cooked in their outdoor pizza oven. They only too 2 minutes to cook! We discussed the book for April, Horse, by Geraldine Brooks. The only words on my notes for that meeting were “Shut the Box” and “5 Crowns,” both of which are games. We must have been having too much fun eating delicious pizzas to have much of a book discussion.

The May meeting will be skipped and instead we will meet on June 27, since four of our members will be going on a trip to Paris and Barcelona. The time and meeting location will either be at Jodi’s or Sandie’s.
