On February 24, Karen, Jan, Cindy and Sandie met at Anne’s home at 5:30 PM. There was a bit of confusion earlier in the day about the time of the meeting. Evidently it was decided at the last meeting to change the time to 5:30 PM, but that fact never made it into the minutes. Anne served a delicious romaine wedge salad with shrimp, bacon bits and delicious Parmesan crisps. Jan served her signature hot fudge sundaes.

The book for February was The Book Thief. Members enjoyed the story from the perspective of the German people. Jan saw the movie before reading the book, which distracted her from fully enjoying the story and characters.

We toasted our dear friend Kathy, whose birthday is on this day.

We discussed the merits of the Fit Bit.

Karen announced her daughter, Ashley, is now expecting.

Anne is going to spend a month with her daughter in California. She expects she will be spending most of her time caring for the baby so her daughter can catch up on her sleep.

Our next meeting is on March 31 at Pat’s home at 5:30 PM. Anne provides dessert. The book for March is  Gilead.
