The Wine & Words Book Club meeting for Sept./Oct was held on Oct. 10 at Sandie’s – Everyone attended, including Sandie’s sister, Lindy. Sandie served a Fall-themed meal – Indian Summer Salad, Butternut Squash Soup and Pumpkin Pie ice cream (from Trader Joes). Book for Sept. was Killers of the Flower Moon, by Grann – read by Linda, Kay, Cindy, Jodi, Anne and all enjoyed it. Books discussed were, Braiding Sweetgrass (Jodi), This Is How It Always Is (Karen), A Team of Rivals (Cindy), Prairie Fire (Cindy), Radium Girls (Cindy), The 5^th Risk (Cindy), The Big Burn (Cindy), Auntie Poltie and the Sicilian Lions and other Auntie Poltie mysteries (Jodi), Being Mortal (Anne). Sandie is reading We Were the Lucky Ones and will report in November. The November 27 meeting will be at Chat Noir at 5:30 PM. Linda will make reservations. The book for November is This Is How It Always Is. The schedule for the rest of the year is Jan, 29 at Jan’s (Braiding Sweetgrass), Feb. 26 at Karen’s, March 26 at Linda’s, April 30 at Kay’s, May 28 at Cindy’s, Sept. 24 at Jodi’s, Oct. 29 at Anne’s.
