The May meeting of Wine and Words Book Club was held at Sandie’s beach house. This was our first time getting together in person this year, due to Covid concerns. It was a beautiful, sunny day and we enjoyed appetizers and wine outside on the deck.
The book for May was Midnight Library and members who read the book really enjoyed it. Although it begins a bit dark, the time-travel journey of possible roads Nora could have taken in her life was entertaining and thought-provoking. This book caused those of us who read it to remanence our past and think about what might have been if we had made different choices in our lives.
We discussed other books we’ve read but we did not recommend any new books for the club. Several members recently watched the movie, Nomadland, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. The book on which the movie was based, Nomadland, was recommended by Kay last year so we decided to read it over the summer and discuss it in September.
