The February meeting of Wine and Words was held at Linda’s home. She served a delicious homemade minestrone soup and coleslaw. For dessert we enjoyed a cacophony of delicious chocolates artfully arranged in a martini glass. Linda, Cindy, Ann, Jody, Sandie, Karen and Jan attended.
Karen needs to trade the March meeting date with someone. Sandie offered to host the meeting, but after the meeting Sandie asked if Ann would host it and she agreed. The schedule online has been updated to reflect these changes.
The Book for February was The Last Outrageous Women. Some members felt the book was a bit youthful. Jan did not like it and thought it was written on a third grade reading level. Linda said it was a local author and thought it would be fun to read something light and entertaining.
Kay asked Linda to say “Hello from Cabo San Lucas,” and that she is having a good time watching whales and is sorry to miss the meeting.
Karen would like to remove the book she originally recommended from our reading list, The Paris Seamstress, which was originally the book for Summer reading to report on in September.
Karen suggested The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu, by Joshua Hammer.
The next meeting of Wine and Words Book Club will be at Anne’s home on Tuesday, March 26 at 5:30 PM. Our next book is the Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz.
