December 2025

The holiday gathering of the Wine and Word’s Book Club was at Starla’s wine bar and was attended by Kay, Jodi, Linda and Sandie. We enjoyed thin-crust pizza and burnt potatoes (they really are delicious), along with our beverages. Sandie enjoyed the organic merlot  selection for that evening, L’ Idiot, which was tart and tangy. It wouldn’t be to everyone’s liking.

Two of us had not yet read Marble Hall Murders, by Anthony Horowitz, so we postponed discussion until our January meeting. The book is out in hardback, and Jodi has a copy she will share with members. The audible version is also available now, but the paperback version will not be out until March. Jodi did say she enjoyed it more than the previous two books in the Susan Reyland series, Magpie Murders and Moonflower Murders.

Linda mentioned The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness, by Jonathan Haidt.

The book for December/January is  The God of the Woods, by Liz Moore.

I have no idea where we are meeting in January. If anyone does, please let us all know.

Happy Holidays, everyone!
